"Or could Pascal have been not entirely right about just sitting quietly in one's room?"

When I got to Copenhagen last night, I met my friend Josefin who took me to her apartment to stay the night before our trip to Rhodes (which was today). I originally met Josefin two years ago at an Opera Master Class in Florence, and we have kept in touch ever since. She visited me a few months ago in NYC, so it hadn’t been that long since we’d seen each other. Josefin works as an opera singer and a nurse, so she desperately needed a vacation, which I am honored to spend with her.
This morning, at Josefin’s apartment, she got me to try on some of her clothes that she was giving away. She gave me a black dress (pictured above), which I love!! I can’t wait to wear it back in the US.
After walking around town and getting some lunch, we went to the airport and boarded our flight to Munich. In Munich, we ate fantastic pretzels, drank coffee (pictured above), and watched some Football (soccer). Fun fact: Josefin drinks 4-5 cups of coffee a day. As we were boarding our flight from Munich to Rhodes an hour later, I remarked to the flight attendant as I walking onto the plane that the cockpit looked very complicated. She laughed and told me I could take a look if I wanted. Josefin came, too, and the two of us got to sit in the pilot and co-pilot seats and play with some of the buttons while the pilots explained some stuff to us. All I remember is that they said it was really easy to fly a plane.
Despite that I fly often, I tend to get nervous on planes, so it was really comforting to meet the pilots and see how it all works. When we got to Rhodes, Josefin and I found our hotel in the middle of the Old City. It was small and as hot as a sauna, but we quickly realized that we could climb out the windows onto the terrace and get an unbelievable view of the old city and the water.
After settling in, we explored the old city. We ate some rolled ice cream, danced at a salsa club, and marveled at all the beautiful stone structures.
