“'Is it lack of imagination that makes us come to imagined places, not just stay at home? Or could Pascal have been not entirely right about just sitting quietly in one's room?”

My favorite part of Denmark is the fairytales. I loved flipping through the different ones by Hans Christian Andersen, who wrote everything from The Princess and the Pea to The Little Mermaid. I have to admit that I prefer the Disney ending to the latter story, although the mermaid becoming sea foam is pretty mystical.
My second favorite part of CPH is the bikes. I mostly traveled by bus, though. Nikole and I decided to try out the Danish National Aquarium, which neither of us had ever been to. It was impressive both educationally and aesthetically. My favorite parts included getting to see a big red King Crab eat a fish and watching bottlenose sharks just swim around and have fun. Both of us are really girly and childish, so we really enjoyed exploring the stuffed animals and mermaid dolls in the gift shop following our visit (pictured above).
I learned a few words today. Because of N's cold, she was sneezing a lot, which allowed me to catch onto the word “Prossit”,” meaning “Bless you.” I also learned the word, “Tag,” (“thank you”), which everyone says for everything. I think it’s the most spoken word in the Danish language. Finally I learned the best word of all: “Fødeboller.”
Fødeboller is a Danish dessert featuring shells of chocolate, whipped egg whites, marzipan, and some other stuff. It tasted light and sweet yet rich at the same time.
Before going to bed, we watched N's favorite movie, “The Shack,” which is a very spiritual movie about a man’s journey to find peace after losing his daughter. It was not my favorite movie, but I am actually very happy I watched it. It made me feel very calm and safe, which are feelings difficult to come by as a young woman traveling alone.
